Where do you belong in the racial food chain?
"In cultures, Asian or white, there is the negative association with the color black. If it's dark it's not as attractive. There is a correlation between skin color and social status. Traditionally in Asian and white cultures, the darker your skin is, the lower your class standing". (AsianWeek, April 9- 15, 1998)
This is an interesting statement and it's been proven by statistics in the US. Statistics showing that Asian Americans rather marry white than black or hispanic.
Are you surprised?
Why marry down when you can marry up in society?
Why, as a minority, marry with another minority?
Why not increase your chances to survive by striving to the top of the racial foodchain?
I who am white and my wife who is yellow are doing pretty well in a white society like Sweden.
My childhood friend, who married a black woman, ended up lower in the foodchain and predators were nibbling on their marriage.
If we look deep inside ourselves we will find we are all racists, even if we don't want to be.
A female friend of my wife, expressed it so well: "I can be so attracted to Indian men, but I have to admit that I look down on them. If not, why would I always be surprised to find out that Indians are so advanced".
Wherever we go in the world, there will be racism.
We just have to keep on fighting it.
